The success of the World Games will bring glory and honor to the City of Kaohsiung and it will ensure Kaohsiung’s status as a host of large-scale, international events. Let all the people of Kaohsiung join hands to welcome this glorious moment and start the countdown to the World Games!

For the 2009 World Games, Kaohsiung has designated 24 games arenas. Many of the locations are well-known to Kaohsiung residents and are even landmarks in their own right. Right now allow us to take you to Kaohsiung and to the World Games!

Located on the border of Kaohsiung City, it's a place for Kaohsiung metropolitan residents to rest and enjoy leisurely activities. The wide open space makes it an excellent choice for air sports.

Located east of Zuoying, Lotus Lake is 1.4 km long and 400 m wide. It occupies about 75 hectares. It's close to Guishan to the south and Banpinshan in the North. Its water source is the Gaopin River.

The Kaohsiung Arena is located at the intersection of Boai Rd and Sinjhuangzih Rd. Its full name is "Kaohsiung Modernization Sports Arena". This arena will be used in the 2009 World Games for dancesport and gymnastics and it can be used for competitions, performances, sports, leisure, conferences, exhibitions, tourism and educational purposes.

Cheng Ching Lake is 103 hectares and is known as the "Si Hu of Taiwan". It's divided into three areas – scenic, wetland, and rest & leisure. Except for the wetland area, you can enter the other two areas.

Kaohsiung Municipal Chung Cheng Stadium has served the world of sports in Kaohsiung for 60 years and it has helped foster many athletic talents. Today, as it celebrates its 60th birthday, it has officially become the Department of Sports.

This lush and elegant park was once a gymnasium and had the busiest underground street below. Today, it is the places for the Bowls competition in the 2009 World Games.

Sizih Bay Beach is located in the west of Kaohsiung City, under the southern foot of Mt. Shou. It faces Mt. Wanshou in the north and Chijin Peninsula in the south. It's a beautiful beach with blue water renowned for its gorgeous sunset and natural reefs.
