Introduction
Cingshueiyan (Qingshuiyan) comprises old Cingshuei (Qingshui) Temple and the scenic district made up of the coral reefs scattered around the area. “Qingshui” was named for the natural springs that can often be seen in the area. The park contains much natural scenery, such as Longpan Cave, a stone boat, and a stone miniature of Taiwan. Greenery is everywhere, interspersed with red bridges – a unique sight. Qingshui Temple has been standing for more than 300 years. Dedicated primarily to the Sakyamuni Buddha and the Bodhisattva Guanyin, it is considered a center of Buddhism in southern Taiwan. Follow the trail beside the temple past it, and you will enter Cingshueiyan Bird Protected Zone, where flocks of white Little Egrets can be seen here overwintering.
