Introduction
< Jinshi (Golden Lion) Lake >
Jinshi (Golden Lion) Lake was originally called Dapi, but was renamed because it lies before Lion Mountain (Shishan), and the hook-shaped lake resembles a lion. The lake covers an area of approximately 11 hectares. A golden stone lion sits beside the lake, as well as a piazza corridor which circles the lake. Standing in it listening to the sounds of insects and birds, watching the beautiful rays of sunset reflected in the lake is an unforgettable experience, and there is also a new light bridge, which spans the lake from north to south like a rainbow, creating an alluring scene.
Kaohsiung Fudingjin Baoan Temple lies behind Lion Mountain(Shishan)situated in front of Jinshi (Golden Lion) Lake, and after passing the towering, colossal memorial arch, a three-story temple in northern Chinese-style comes into view. The towering pillars evince fine carving; a relief depicting nine dragons stands before the main hall, lending it a lofty air. There is a golden statue of Neza (also known as Marshal of the Central Altar ‘Zhongtanyuanshuai’) in the main hall, flanked by the bell and drum towers on each side of the hall- a stately and elegant sight.
