Introduction
Guo Chang-Xi has been a blacksmith for over half a century and has been producing swords for as long as thirty years. Opening the “Guo Chang-Xi Weapons Art Gallery” in October 2002 not only included it within Kaohsiung's local cultural areas, but was also declared “the home of Taiwanese craft” through appraisal by the National Taiwanese Craft Research and Development Institute; it is Taiwan's only current culture and education center to display history through swords, and is also a lively platform for passing on crafts and extending tradition.
