Lotus Lake to launch new water sport events
From June 30 to September 25, “Kaohsiung XBlob’ will be jointly held by the Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau and a private company by the Lotus Lake. All interested members of the public are encouraged to take part. SUP (stand up paddle) is also on offer so that people may enjoy Kaohsiung’s waters more.

Blob jump is highly popular in Europe, North America and South Korea. Now the people of Taiwan can try this new exciting sport in Kaohsiung. SUP on the other hand is also an ideal way to explore the lake’s beauty.

Registration for Kaohsiung XBlob may be done online. Three to four sessions are offered from 8am to 6pm daily. Each session lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours and is limited to 20 participants.

Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau Director Tseng Tsi-wen noted that the Love & Fun Kaohsiung Water Activities Festival held last year at the Love River and Lotus Lake was zealously embraced by the public. Hence, this year the bureau decided to hold Blob JumpiSup and has received many inquiries from TV stations and the public. Safety equipment and qualified life coaches will be provided on site to make sure all participants are safe. The bureau expects to turn the Lotus Lake into a waterfront entertainment base while promoting water activities in Kaohsiung.
