With completion of major public projects in Kaohsiung, such as Asia New Bay Area, more international trade shows have been held at Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. The city is now ready to receive business visitors with the facilities and services it can provide. Buyers and sellers from around the world can expect to enjoy a pleasant trip to Kaohsiung.
On the 18th, Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau, Kaohsiung Association of Travel Agents, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Kaohsiung City Hardware Businesses Association, Taiwan Welding Society, Economic Daily News and international trade show organizers visited Vigor Kobo’s Castle of Golden Pineapple, a pastry factory, to learn about the “soft power” of Kaohsiung’s tourism industry. This is one of the Bureau attempts to bring trade-show crowds to the tourism market.
A large number of general and business visitors is expected to attend the 2017 Kaohsiung Industrial Automation Exhibition hosted by Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, according to the Bureau’s Director Tseng Tsi-wen. Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau is also launching tourist tours with support from Kaohsiung Association of Travel Agents. Admiral International Travel Co., Ltd. will offer an NT$299 half-day city tour and an NT$599 one-day city tour.
Director Tseng said that to bring together the automatic product-processing industry and the tourism industry, this time, the Bureau took tour participants to visit Castle of Golden Pineapple which mainly produces pineapple cakes. The participants also attended a DIY pastry class. Kaohsiung’s scenic spots are many and visitors can expect to learn a lot about the city’s culture. It is quite suitable for business people attending trade shows to take part in such a tour.
The director noted that Kaohsiung is a city with mountains, oceans, rivers and ports. Land, air and sea transport is all convenient, and the weather is mild and comfy, making Kaohsiung a great tourist and trade city. In fact, many international trade shows have been held in Kaohsiung in the past few years, drawing huge crowds and business opportunities. To further promote the city’s tourism, Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau has even launched the 2017 International Trade Show Incentive Project, which include sponsoring up to NT$5,000 per tourist bus per day. The bureau looks forward to promoting more tourist events and trade shows with local businesses in the near future.
