Gushan Cave is the first old military site turned into a tourist destination as chosen by the Kaohsiung City Government. It used to be an air-raid shelter of Shoushan during and early after the Japanese Rule.
After several rounds of refurbishment, the 200-meter cave now features two main tunnels and one horizontal pathway. There is also a 64-stair emergency staircase. All have become stalactited.
About 1,500 visitors have been to the cave since its re-inauguration, to feel its historic aura and to appreciate the beautiful stalactite landscape.
Guided tours are available on reservation.
