The result of the public voting and expert evaluation on Taiwan’s 19 major hot spring regions was released yesterday, and Kaohsiung Liugui Baolai’s Bulao Hot Spring, located in the southern hot spring region, won the Best Value for Money Award in the “2020-2021 Taiwan Hot Spring - Golden Spring Awards” for the first time.
The source of Liugui District’s Bulao Hot Spring is in a valley at the branch of Laonong River. The water has a high temperature that ranges between 40 and 50 degrees Celsius throughout the year, and contains mild alkaline carbonic acid. The water of Baolai Bulao Hot Spring is clear and odorless, and can make the skin smooth and soft. It is said that it can alleviate fatigue and relieve soreness, thus earning the reputation of having the effect of “rejuvenation and longevity”, and the name, Bulao (literally means “eternal youth” in Chinese) Hot Spring.
Liugui Baolai’s Bulao Hot Spring stands out from Taiwan’s hot spring regions and clinches the award. However, due to the current Level 3 pandemic , the public is advised to postpone their visits to Baolai Bulao Hot Spring and wait until the pandemic subsides to enjoy the “Best Value for Money Hot Spring”, as well as its attractions and delicacies.
Besides visiting Baolai’s Bulao Hot Spring for the hot spring, there are also various nearby attractions in Liugui, a town surrounded by mountains, such as South Cross-Island Highway, Tengjhih National Forest Recreation Area, Baolai Flower Park and Hot Springs, Zhulin Recreation Farm, Pulaixitou Tribe Historic Battle Trail, and Meilunshan Trail.
