After years of construction and planning, Kaohsiung Music Center will make its grand opening on October 31st. As the main agency that manages the construction project of KMC, the Ministry of Culture spares no effort in supporting Kaohsiung in the development of the pop music industry, including the financing of hardware and software. It also shows the central government’s determination in promoting industry development. Kaohsiung’s music industry is moving full speed ahead, and it hopes to receive the industry’s strongest backing!
KMC Chairman and Director of the Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Kaohsiung City Government, Wang, Wen-Tsui said, “KMC will continue to support various types of new popular music performance programs with a ‘front shop, back factory’ model. It will offer film and audio streaming services and integrate online and offline services, establishing a complete performance industry chain, and providing Kaohsiung and even the whole of Taiwan with a popular music venue equipped with high standard performance service and Internet of Musical Things (IoMusT).”
According to KMC CEO Lee Cincin, who exerts herself in promoting industry-academia cooperation and talent cultivation, “after the second half of this year, KMC will be hosting various types of concerts successively. Besides performances, KMC’s long term mission is to cultivate talents and develop the popular music industry. With music as the starting point, it will lay the foundation of local music development by crossing cultural barriers, integrating digital technologies and diverse arts, and targeting students from all standards and the music lovers in southern Taiwan.
