Because the Xinwei (Sinwei) Administration Center's water and soil conservation and surrounding facility engineering construction is expected to be completed in 2016! Lying on a terrace on the west bank of Laonong River in Liugui District, Kaohsiung, Xinwei Forest Park was previously constructed as an orchard due to the high quality of its soil, and was known to its residents as “Ping ding”. The Park occupies approx.. 27ha., and over 200 species of tree grow there. A mahogany avenue runs among them,surrounded and shaded by trees, and has an especially poetic appearance when the leaves of the mahogany trees become red-yellow in autumn and winter.
