Tourism Bureau Director Gao Min-lin stated that the "Ride with the Wind" event in October, held in Gushan and themed around a Halloween costume party, attracted thousands of participants to the Hamaxing area for a costume bike tour and a quirky market, promoting low-carbon travel and implementing the United Nations SDGs sustainable goals. For the November event in Lin Yuan, the theme will focus on ecological conservation and green tourism, featuring the "Ocean Wetland Fishing Port Bike Tour." This initiative aims to guide participants in exploring wetland ecology and enjoying the beautiful maritime scenery. With warm and mild weather during the autumn and winter seasons in Kaohsiung, it is the perfect time for cycling through the streets and alleys. Everyone is welcome to join the event on November 11 in Lin Yuan, experience the sea breeze, enjoy the sunset, and savor authentic local cuisine while exploring the maritime beauty of Lin Yuan.
Ocean Wetland Cycling Tour" will invite guides from the Lin Yuan Mangrove Conservation Association to explain the ecology of the marine wetlands to visitors. The wetland, located by the sea in the Gangzui community, is a compact wetland with functions of recreation, ecological restoration, and educational tours. In addition to the mangroves that formed 150 years ago, there is also the rare sight of "upside-down jellyfish" floating. Afterward, participants will visit the fishing villages around Yun and Shanwei in Lin Yuan, then head south to witness the extraordinary phenomenon of the "Square Sea" in Shu, and enjoy an ecological tour in the "Lin Yuan Mangrove Ecological Area," once hailed as the backyard of the petrochemical industrial zone. Finally, the tour concludes with a return to the Ocean Wetland Park to explore the market and watch performances. In addition to exquisite souvenirs, participants will receive food market vouchers and qualify for a lucky draw, ensuring a satisfying experience of indulgence in food, drink, and entertainment all at once.
Kao Min-lin added that in collaboration with the Lin Yuan Ocean Wetland Park's seaside and recreational features, the event will expand to include a marine music market, featuring performances by renowned artists such as the Golden Melody Award-winning band "Cosmos People," "Tseng Yun-hsuan" from the singing competition "The King of Mask Singer," "Tseng Tzu-song" from the talent show "Super Star Avenue," and the young singer from the Amis tribe, "Hibon." Additionally, there will be 20 food trucks on-site, offering a variety of desserts, beverages, ice treats, and both Eastern and Western snacks. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a low-carbon micro-trip to Lin Yuan, collecting both delicious food and beautiful scenery in one go.
For those driving to the event, it is recommended to park at the "Chung Yun Fishing Port Scenic Platform Square (in front of Chung Yun Feng Yun Temple)," where a free shuttle bus will transport attendees to the event venue.
